Now why would the Nuggets make this trade? The Nuggets wanted to give Ty Lawson his due, his touches, his shots and most importantly they didn’t want Lawson and Felton to kill each other. The interesting thing about this trade is both Felton and Miller have very similar expiring contracts at the end of this up coming season. Also I could easily see the Nuggets trading Miller to a team desperate for a veteran point guard.

The complete trade is the Trail Blazers trading Andre Miller to Denver for Felton, trading Rudy Fernandez and the rights to Finnish guard Petteri Koponen to the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas trading the the No. 26 pick (Jordan Hamilton) to Denver and the No. 57 pick to Portland. While Denver sends Felton to Portland.

FANTASY BASKETBALL PLAYERS, he put up 13.5 points, 4.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 1 steal, with 42% shooting, 35.8% from downtown and 82.6% from the charity line his rookie year while being lighting fast but the Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t play him last year due to their lack of understanding how to run an NBA team. I honestly can’t even explain how go you from starting Flynn for all 81 games he played for 29 minutes a game to only starting him for 8 games out of 53 games for only 18.5 minutes per game? He is only 22 years old, will only get better plus he’s from New York and even went to Syracuse so he has a deep point guard understanding. Not promising Flynn will be an All-Star but he will be a legit starting point guard by the Trade Deadline.

I am willing to do whatever the team needs to win as many games as possible. The game is more physical (in the NBA). I have to hit the weights and get stronger. I like the NBA game as a spectator. It is very attractive and more open.”

Fantasy Basketball Players if your wondering about playing time. “I don’t know what his defined role will be next year. But there’s no question in my mind that he will play next year and he will play significant minutes” is what Minnesota Timberwolves president David Kahn had to say. According to Kevin Pelton of Basketball Prospectus Rubio will average 8.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Being a basketball fan and/or Fantasy Basketball Player you have to be a fan of those numbers. So watch out, Rubio is coming!

Mark Jackson is coming West to be the new Head Coach of the Golden State Warriors. My first thoughts are I don’t like him; he is boring, preferred passing to Allan Houston over Latrell Sprewell and is always shooting down our boy Jeff Van Gundy on ABC’s NBA play by play team. On the other hand he is a BIG NAME who knows the game of basketball. He is very intelligent, very hard working, has a very high basketball IQ, one of the best passers in the history of the NBA and a winner. But I do wonder the man has never coached on any level in his life. Does he know how to coach anyone, let alone NBA Players?

Then again point guards turning into head coaches does sound like a good idea to me. At the very least he will go hard on Stephon Curry so Fantasy Basketball Players pick Curry up. I have a feeling if all goes well his assists shall go up from 5.8 to at least 7 if not 8 a game. On the downside he might go too hard on Curry and the Warriors might end up trading him. If that is the case all you can hope for is that Jackson doesn’t drive Curry’s trade value down in the process.

While Jackson is a man of structure I don’t feel he is going to walk in and try and get Monta Ellis traded (due to the fact the Warriors would have a better structured team without him). Never fear rival teams that are dieing to get your hands on Ellis. Jerry West has without saying it directly referenced trading Ellis many times and I don’t feel Jackson will give much resistance just a casual, “let me have until the NBA All-Star Break with both of them”. Unless some how magically Jackon is a coaching savant and figures out how to optimize both their talents in the same back court but I doubt that.

“I am really elated about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the challenge of building the Warriors into a perennial contender,” Jackson said. Sounds good so far but we shall see. Now more importantly can ABC get freshly retired Shaquille O’Neal to team up with Jeff Van Gundy? I mean ABC see’s how good Charles Barkley does on TNT and they let Shaq do soo many C Grades show’s on their network that it can’t hurt to try.

“He’s gotten bigger and he plays outstanding defense, and because he’s a pass-first guard — he’s going to be liked by everybody who plays with him,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.

“He’s a special player and a very good point guard. Very unselfish. He’s got great size, great length. He knows how to play the game very well. He’s got a great feel for the game. He’s just a guy that will get the team going and do what he needs to do.”

I sure hope Pau Gasol is correct with this. I mean you pick a guy 5th in the NBA Draft two seasons ago and he just now is coming over so we shall see. The one thing I do know is I am very excited to see Rubio play the game of basketball next season. Fantasy Basketball Players draft Rubio in the mid rounds, I am telling you if nothing else he will average 8 plus assists a game.

I can’t tell you who is going to win this season’s NBA Championship but what I can tell you is who the Final Four will be and not only that but ESPN is showing most of them battling head to head tonight. At 5 PM WST the San Antonio Spurs will be in Miami to take on the Heat. After that the Orlando Magic will be in LA to take on the Lakers at 7:30 PM WST.

As you have guessed the Magic will not make the Eastern Conference Finals this season based on the strength of the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. I can also tell you the Western Conference might not be a cake walk for the Lakers but they will surely be one of this season’s NBA Finals Representatives while the Eastern Conference Representative is too tough to call. Fantasy Basketball Owners, trust me NBA players know which games are on TV respond accordinlly.
