First an ESPN NEXT cover for Buster Posey. Now an Eastbay cover. Wow, what a day Buster, what a day.
The one Magazine Cover that comes out every year which usually has the coolest player by far who is just about to explode is the ESPN NEXT Cover and this year that player is the World Series Champion, Rookie of Year, the San Fransisco Giants catcher, Buster Posey. And I thought he had a great [...]
The first big splash in this offseason came from the Washington Nationals signing Jayson Werth, for a Barry Zito sized contract over seven years. This left a hole in the Phillies lineup, zapping all of their power from the right side of the plate. Would they pick up another big bopper, do they trust the [...]
Finally got to chat with my favorite sports personality, Bill Simmons, of ESPN. I made sure to tell him about the wonders of CloudFantasy and I know he will be taking alook at it soon. Don’t worry I have included many pictures of our meeting for all to see.
If you thought Jayson Werth was overpaid for seven years and $126 million with the Washington Nationals just wait till you hear how much a better player like Carl Crawford got. The Boston Reds Sox just signed him for seven years and $142 million. I can’t wait till Albert Pujols who is a free agent in another year hits free [...]
Juan Uribe 3 years, $21 million, Derek Jeter 3 years (or more) for $30 million up to $66 million (as he wants) or Miguel Tejada 1 year for $6.5 million. The SF Giants really hit a homerun with this decision. They got the best shortstop on the market at the best price. There was no [...]
Before the season started I knew Vladimir Guerrero still had it and he has just won the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award to prove it. He made the All-Star team for the 9th time this season and hit .300 with 30 homers, 115 RBIs and 83 runs in 152 games. Nice job Vlad.
Derek Jeter has been offered $15 Million a season for 3 years but he wants more. I really don’t know how to feel about this. From strickly a talent standpoint, this new contract would overpay Jeter by at least $5 Million. But then again Jeter did help the New York Yankees win 5 championships and [...]
I was recently asked how one decides to became a fan of a team, but more importantly the eternal question of how do you decide who your favorite team is? Some think it is solely a regional decision alas “root root for the home team”. In reality it comes down to what team or in [...]
“Poseys Better” was the chant of choice during the National League Divisional Playoff Round every time his closest competitor, Jason Heyward, came up to bat in San Fransisco. Now its offical Buster Posey has won the National League Rookie of Year Award in grand fashion. He not only came to the major leagues in late May, hit [...]
