The Great Nike Greyout of 2012

February might mean Valentine’s Day to many but to Nike it means the The Great Nike Greyout of 2012! Yesterday the LeBron IX and Jordan CP3.V released in guess what color? Then Wednesday (Tuesday 9PM WST) the Air Jordan 2012 will release and just over the last week the Air Max Trainer 1.3 and Livestrong Air Max+ 2012 released in grey yet again. So I don’t care if you just want to walk around comfortably, workout or play basketball you have no excuses not to have a fresh pair of Nikes!

Monta Ellis’s (M8) Empire

Is Monta Ellis disrespecting the ladies and AND1 at the same time? By now we all know about the sexual harassment lawsuit a woman is suing Ellis for and his wearing of Air Jordan’s during this season after he was suppose to be wearing his latest signature shoe with AND1, the M8 Empire. He was pictured with the M8 Empire just a few months ago on the cover of Kicks # 14. Now not only is he wearing Air Jordan’s but AND1 no longer has M8 on the name of these shoes but just Empire. He was wearing Air Jordan’s as early as the Golden State Warriors Picture Day before the season even started. My sources are telling me AND1 found out about the woman’s allegations in advance of the general public finding out a few weeks ago and dropped Ellis and renamed his signature shoe to simply Empire and called it a day leading Ellis to start wearing Air Jordan’s and push hard to be a Jordan Brand Athlete.

Jordan Fly Wade 2 (White-Black-Red)

In early 2012 the best Jordan Fly Wade 2 colorway will be releasing, White-Black-Red, but after giving them a spin I am not quite so sure you should be picking them up. Normally I would just be pushing for a White-Blue or a White-Grey colorway which trust me I still am but what gives me pause is the lack of any kind of cushioning I respect. They feature a full length Lunarlon midsole which is basically the same BS Lunar Foam you hated a few years back from the Hyperdunks of 2008 (the ones Kobe wore at the 2008 Olympics) but with two layers of Lunar Foam. Yeah, that sounds bad and it is.

During my quick spin I kept asking myself for $145 why can’t I get full length Zoom Air preferably with Double the Zoom Air in the heel? Zoom Air as you might recall feels light, sexy and fast like the world is yours. Lunarlon feels like the double Lunar Foam that is, just two levels of Foam. I talked with numerous people who own shoes with a full length Lunarlon midsole and they all told me, “it’s ok, it’s no Zoom Air or 360 Air!”

Now am I am telling you not to buy the Jordan Fly Wade 2? No, of course not. I am telling you to wait till early 2012 so I find out if they will make a Jordan Fly Wade 2.5 or a Playoff or a Low Top Version where hopefully there will be Air of your liking plus there might be better colors and maybe even a Nike iD.

Jordan Fly Wade 2 (Black-White)

Here is the Jordan Fly Wade 2 in the Black-White colorway. Not a bad looking shoe but I would prefer a Black on Black. Then again if you change the shoe laces to Black on these you should be ok. They will be releasing early 2012.

Jordan CP3.V (White-Black-Grey)

Chris Paul has been the talk of the NBA; Lakers or Clippers, where will he land? Well he is LA Clipper playing the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, CA on ESPN at 7:30 PM WST wearing some of the most stylish shoes I have seen in awhile. Look how low these Jordan CP3.V are (the lowest cut Jordan Brand shoe ever). They feature a Flywire upper and a Podulon outsole and even have dual-density cushioning in the forefoot. There is also a traction pattern denser in high-wear areas (heel, medial forefoot, etc.) to give enhanced traction and more durability. To top it off they are even lighter than his previous shoe by 20%! So if you want to feel like the best point guard in the NBA or just want some stylish light weight low tops to play basketball in or just style in (picture these with jeans or shorts), the Jordan CP3.V are for you, especially in this White-Black-Grey coloraway.

Air Jordan 2012 (White-Black)

Here is the Air Jordan 2012 in the White-Black coloraway. Now at first glance the latest pair of Air Jordan’s might not make you smile but do remember the first Air Jordan coloraway every year is also the least attractive Air Jordan. So hold judgement till you see them in the better coloraways. But for now, yes, they are really ugly!

Jordan Fly Wade 2

Here for the first time are the new Jordan Fly Wade 2! There is Hyperfuse and exposed mesh on the one-piece upper, a full length Lunarlon midsole, with a padded ankle. Wade even has a new logo, there is the “W” for Wade, a “3″ for Wade’s number, and “M”for Miami, and an “E” for East. The Jordan Fly Wade 2 release December 7th in Black-Red-White and in Red-White then in January the White-Red-Black release finally the last colorway Black- White release in March all for $140 a pop.

LeBron IX iD

On October 11th you can preview the LeBron IX iD on Facebook and buy them October 25th. The Black-Red-White released October 1st in China and will release on the 14th in the US. For those NBA 2K12 fans they released special colorways on October 4th at select retailers. If I were you I would iD these bad boys but then again they might release these in additional coloraways later so that will give you something to think about.
