Finally a Chinese Warrior

Years after Yao Ming came to the NBA the Bay Area finally gets a Chinese player.  Now we can talk NBA with all the Chinese in the Bay, who cares if they aren’t all that into the NBA in the Bay.  Now there is Jeremy Lin. ”This is unbelievable.  I’ve never been part of something like this.”  I couldn’t have said it better myself, Lin.  This move will help the Warriors with the Chinese community, keeping games sold out and of course selling Lin jerseys like hot cakes.

He played very well for the Dallas Mavericks’ summer league team in Las Vegas.  To top it off he is a local boy who grew up in Palo Alto and even took his Palo Alto High School to a state championship in 2006.  Then he went to Harvard where in his senior season he averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds.  And lets not forget all the Warriors are looking for is a backup point guard so he should be able to handle that.

To make it even better he clearly wanted to come here based on the following comments.  ”I’m ready to play at this level and I appreciate the support of the Asian community.  This is a dream come true.  I always wanted to be in the NBA and now I get to do it with the Warriors, the team I grew up watching.  This has not sunk in yet.  I’ve had a lot to think about the last 12 hours and I still can’t get my head around it.  Growing up I had my Latrell Sprewell poster and Joe Smith jersey.”
